Winona, MN - Fastenal Company released the numbers for their January sales month, noting that net sales rose 11.7% year over year.
Net sales in January of 2013 were $274,866 (Dollar amounts in thousands), up from 245,970 in the same month of 2012. The daily sales were $12,494, up 6.7% from 11,713 in 2012.
Commentary on sales growth and end markets:
End market (daily sales change) - During the month, manufacturing customers grew 6.4% and non-residential construction customers grew 2.4%.
Sales growth - The change in currencies in foreign countries (primarily Canada) relative to the United States dollar increased our daily sales growth rate by 0.2% during the month.
