General Cable Launches New High Speed Industrial Cable

High Speed XLF cable is engineered with General Cable’s new High Speed technology for fast and easy installation, and the latest lead-free EPR insulation technology.

HIGHLIAND HEIGHTS, KY — General Cable (NYSE: BGC) announces the introduction of its High Speed, Xtra Low Friction (XLF) line of low- and medium-voltage industrial power cable. High Speed XLF cable is engineered with General Cable’s new High Speed technology for fast and easy installation and the latest lead-free EPR insulation technology.

General Cable’s High Speed XLF technology provides a significant reduction in installation pulling force, upwards to 80 percent versus standard cable, which makes it easier and safer to install into conduit, duct or cable tray and results in time, labor and money savings for the electrical contractor. The incorporation of lead-free EPR insulation allows General Cable 600 V and 5 kV to 35 kV industrial low- and medium-voltage cables to add ROHS compliance to their long list of industry approvals.

“The High Speed XLF jacket technology delivers real cost savings to the electrical contractor, and provides for added flexibility in both the planning and installation phases of a project,” said Kris Morrow, General Cable’s Product Manager for Industrial Products. “The electrical contractor’s ability to benefit from installation efficiencies directly impacts profitability and assists in meeting tight project deadlines.”
