Winston-Salem, NC - With "Plug and Play" as the standard for configuring computer systems, Kaba Access Control now offers a similar-in-concept installation option for its E-Plex® Wireless Access Control System. The simple, easy-to-install USB Option connects a single PC computer to a ZigBee Gateway for wireless communication between a central workstation and up to 100 E-Plex Locks. This straightforward installation option does not require any wires, conduit runs, access panels, or network drops, making it a convenient way to implement wireless access control without a great deal of expense or hassle. The Wireless System can also be scaled up to 10,000 locks with a TCP/IP connection. According to Rick Shuford, CRL and Kaba's product trainer, "Kaba's E-Plex Wireless Access Control System is a very flexible and scalable solution for managing access points. In addition to its variety of hardware options and credential choices, the system offers configuration options to accommodate virtually any site's requirements. The most basic selection is the USB Option, which allows users to plug a Gateway directly into a PC for data transmission from E-Plex Locks to the computer's server. One simple connection provides users real-time functionality of events, access to emergency commands, and visual indicators of the system's performance."
