Valley Cottage, NY – Ceramabondtm 552, a new high temperature ceramic adhesive developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to encapsulate and seal high temperature thermocouples used in applications to 3000 ºF (1650 ºC). Ceramabondtm 552 is an advanced, single part, alumina-filled ceramic adhesive that provides exceptional adhesion to ceramics and metals used in applications to 3000 oF (1650 ºC). This easy-to-use, dispensable adhesive is also a water-based, environmentally safe material that contains no volatile organic compounds. After setting at room temperature and curing at 200 degress F and 500 ºF each for 2 hours, respectively, it is resistant to most acids, solvents, fuels and molten metals. Additional properties include a coefficient of thermal expansion of 4.3 ppm/ºF, volume resistivity of 108 ohm-cm, dielectric strength of 250 volts/mil, and tensile shear strength of 450
psi. Ceramabondtm 552 has many other high temperature uses from bonding ceramic gaskets in wood stoves, to electrically insulating sensors, high power resistors, gas igniters, and impellors and degassers used in molten metal processing. This product is available from stock in pint, quart, gallon and five-gallon pails.
