Snap-on's Organic Sales, Profit Make Gains In Q4

The Kenosha, WI-based tool maker's healthy Q4 was powered by strong growth in its Tools Group segment, while its Repair Systems & Information segment also had an organic increase.

Kenosha, WI-based tool maker Snap-on posted its 2015 fourth quarter and full year fiscal results on Thursday, showing more gains in organic sales and profit.

The company's Q4 total sales of $851.7 million was a 0.7 percent year-over-year decrease, though organic sales increased 3.1 percent. Profit of $131.4 million in the quarter was up 13 percent from the same period a year ago.

By segment:

  • Snap-on Tools Group Q4 sales of $411.2 million were a 6.1 percent increase from a year ago, with an 8.7 percent increase in organic sales.
  • Commercial & Industrial Group Q4 sales of $281.8 million decreased 5.5 percent, with a 0.6 percent dip in organic sales.
  • Repair Systems & Information Group Q4 sales of $280.6 million decreased 0.8 percent, with a 2.2 percent increase in organic sales.

For the full year 2015, sales of $3.35 billion increased 2.3 percent from 2014, with a 7.1 percent increase in organic sales. Profit of $478.7 million was a 13.5 percent increase over 2014.
