Atlas Copco Acquires Virginia-Based Capitol Vacuum Parts

The move is Atlas Copco's fourth announced acquisition in December, gaining it 15 employees of a company that had 2014 sales of $3.1 million.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Atlas Copco, a  provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has agreed to acquire the assets of Capitol Research Equipment Inc., a U.S. parts and service provider for vacuum pumps.

Capitol Research Equipment, commonly known as Capitol Vacuum Parts, is based in Chantilly, Virginia. The company, which has 15 employees, sells spare parts globally for vacuum pumps and related equipment, while also providing repair and service in the U.S. It had revenues in 2014 of about $3.1 million. 

“This acquisition will strengthen our global vacuum presence by providing more customers with outstanding parts and service,” said Nico Delvaux, President of Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area. 

The acquisition is expected to be completed in January 2016. The acquired business will become part of Edwards Vacuum, LLC within the Vacuum Solutions division in Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
