Milwaukee Electric Tool announced Thursday that it plans to significantly expand its Brookfield, Wisconsin-based headquarters over the next five years.
The project calls for the creation of an estimated 500 jobs in a planned 200,000 square foot, four-story office expansion at Milwaukee Tool's headquarters campus, adjoining its current main facility. Estimated cost of the expansion is $33 million.
Under the plan, Milwaukee Tool would add an estimated 300 new jobs in the next 3 years, and reach 500 in the next five years. The company says most of the new positions would be focused around engineering and marketing. The company currently employees around 800 in Brookfield.
Milwaukee Tool's headcount in Brookfield has gone from 300 in 2011 to nearly 800 this year. Over the last 10 years, the company has redeveloped 190,000 square feet of former manufacturing space to accommodate research and development, product development, proto-typing, packaging design, marketing, sales, training facilities, and administrative offices.

The company would purchase a 3.5 acre site across Lisbon Road from the current facilities for green space, parking, and potential longer term expansion. A 200,000 square foot, four story office building would be built on the campus, adjoined to the current main facility. Milwaukee Tool estimates that 300 new jobs would be added in the next 3 years, and 500 in the next five years. The majority of these new positions will be focused around engineering and marketing.

"Milwaukee Tool has more than outgrown our current facility and is eager to expand our operations to support our future growth expectations."
