Sonepar USA Subsidiaries Acquire Ciro Electrical Supply, Trinity Electric

Cooper Electric Supply has purchased Philadelphia-based Ciro Electrical Supply, while Crawford Electric has purchased Dallas, TX-based Trinity Electric.

Two Sonepar USA subsidiaries, Cooper Electric and Crawford Electric Supply, announced acquisitions on Tuesday.

Monroe, NJ-based Cooper Electric announced that it has purchased Ciro Electrical Supply Co, an electrical distributor based in Philadelphia.

Founded in 1971, Ciro is a family-owned and operated business that has evolved into a full line stocking electrical distributor, currently in its second generation of ownership. Ciro services a diverse customer base of small and medium customers in the Center City Philadelphia territory with an active, well-maintained counter.

Cooper is excited to welcome Ciro to the Cooper and Sonepar USA family. Ciro is a complementary fit to Cooper’s core business. The acquisition reinforces Cooper’s strategy to create branch locations in areas that best serve the needs of its customers. Ciro’s staff of ten employees will join the Cooper team.

Mike Dudas, President of Cooper, said, “We welcome the employees of Ciro into the Cooper family and look forward to working with them to expand our presence in the Philadelphia region; we are excited to continue servicing its customers’ needs in the area.”

Dallas, TX-based Crawford Electric Supply announced that it has purchased Trinity Electric Supply, an independent electrical distributor of commercial and industrial lighting products founded in 2009 and based in Dallas Dall.

The addition of Trinity strengthens Crawford’s footprint in the specialty lighting market, and all Trinity associates will report to Kelly Johns, the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area Manager for Crawford.

“I am excited to welcome the Trinity team to the Crawford family. The passion and specialty market knowledge they bring to the business will compliment the success that our Dallas team has built since 1990,” said Tim Horny, Crawford’s President. “In addition, this acquisition strengthens our density and allows us to maintain a location in the downtown Dallas area once our new Distribution Center opens in August.”
