A report from timber merchants and wood products network IHB on Thursday said that on April 7, French building materials organization ISB Group has separated itself from Wolseley Plc – No. 1 on Industrial Distribution's 2014 Big 50 List.
ISB group (importation et Solution Bois) unites the activities of lumber and building materials providers Silverwood, Sinbpla, Carib, and James.
This follows an announcement from Wolseley in January that said it was considering leaving the French building materials business, where trading has been an uphill battle.
The separation will create a 100 percent French Company between the four brands.
Silverwood is a French producer of planed lumber (sheathing, paneling, fences etc), specializing in factory applied finishing.
Sinbpla is a French trader of softwood panels and plywood for wooden constructions and woodwork, who offers structural wood and wooden roofs as well.
Carib specializes in planed lumber dedicated to DIY brands, offering interior (panelling, parquet, moldings) and exterior (sidings, wood frames, terrace, fences) solutions.
James is a French producer of glulam structural goods (straight or curved), trimmed or in a complete set “ready for installation”, with building construction activity in the industrial, commercial, cultural, sport, and agriculture sectors.
At the end of February, ISB Group had figures of $236.7 turnover and more than 500 employees in France between 7 production sites.
