CHICAGO — Registration is now open for the PTDA 2017 Canadian Conference, to be held June 7-9, 2017, at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

For the 16th year, key decision makers of the Canadian power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry will gather for business networking and education, including several new events: a CEO/Senior Executive Roundtable, a Leadership Enhancement Seminar and DM-IDEX. DM-IDEX, short for Distributor-Manufacturer Idea Exchange, is a distributor-driven fast-networking event. It will give Canadian distributor companies the opportunity to schedule meetings in advance with the manufacturers they wish to see during the conference.

Two education sessions will also be offered on the second day of the conference. Jim Harris, an organizational change expert, will discuss how to thrive in an era of disruptive innovation. Sean Wise, a professor of entrepreneurship, will talk about big data and how participants can leverage it to help improve their company operations.

“The PTDA Canadian Conference is something I look forward to every year. It is a great opportunity to not only reconnect with colleagues and friends, but it also allows our company to meet with many of our supplier partners. I am pleased that the revised format of the Canadian Conference will facilitate these meetings. In particular, the DM–IDEX will be a great tool to help accomplish our goals. And the two new additions, the CEO roundtable and the leadership seminar, promise to be very valuable,” said Tom Dielschneider, vice president supply chain, Motion Industries Inc.

Ajay Bajaj, president, Rotator Products Inc., added, “This year PTDA is introducing something new called DM-IDEX. As a small distributor, it’s new territory for us. It gives us an opportunity to set appointments with manufacturers and that is very exciting. This was only previously available at the PTDA Industry Summit and now it’s available to Canadian distributors at the Canadian Conference also which gives us a new and unique member advantage.”

A golf outing will be held on the morning of the third day to round out the networking opportunities of the conference.

PTDA is a member-driven organization led by volunteers who work with their peers in the industry to develop relevant and timely content and programming. Using the expertise of several of the industry’s top executives, the programming for the Canadian Conference is specifically designed for those who sell and manufacture PT/MC products in Canada. With new sessions each year, the conference goal is to inform and educate with relevant and timely material.
