Lawson Products — No. 38 on Industrial Distribution's Big 50 List — is celebrating its 65th anniversary throughout 2017 with a series of events, but it'll be hard to top what it did on Wednesday.
The Chicago-based MRO distributor sent CEO Michael DeCata, CFO Ronald Knutson and about 20 other Lawson executive employees to New York City, where they joined Nasdaq to help ring in its closing bell in the late afternoon.
The closing ceremony included Nasdaq vice president and executive host David Wicks giving an overview and introduction of Lawson Products before Decata gave company remarks. The ceremony was livestreamed by Nasdaq, and Lawson held watching parties at its company offices and distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada.
That Lawson executive group had its picture taken in front of company name featured on Nasdaq's giant digital billboard, as well as in Nasdaq's podium room that overlooks Times Square.
