ID Index Gains A Little

W.W. Grainger (GWW) continues its lead of the index at 199.06 after a loss of 9.10 points, dipping once more below the 200.00 mark . . .

After several large losses in the last two months, followed by a few gains, the ID Index experiences a modest gain on the week, adding 9.23 points since the last index on July 16th, 2012.

Two months ago, the ID Index suffered an exceptionally large loss of 54.39. One month ago, the index plunged again with a total loss of 31.23 points on the week. It regained a decent portion of the losses and appears to once again be heading in the right direction, last week exploding forward with the largest gain in months. This week, the upward trend continues.

A week ago, the ID Index came in at 732.03 after a large gain of 25.71 points. As of Friday, August 10th, the index is up 9.23 points on the week for a total value of 741.26, a gain of about 1%.

W.W. Grainger (GWW) continues its lead of the index at 199.06 after a loss of 9.10 points, dipping once more below the 200.00 mark.

Lawson Products is once again the lowest valued stock coming in at 9.97 points, with a slight gain of about 5% (.49 points).

Other economic data worth noting:

  • $1 = 0.81 Euros, down a penny on the week.
  • A gallon of regular gas is averaging $3.69 in the U.S., and $3.60 a year ago.
  • Crude oil is currently trading at $92.87, versus $89.83/barrel two weeks ago.
  • Natural gas is currently at $2.81/BTU, down .21 since last index.
  • Gold is at $1622.00/Troy ounce, hovering.
  • Copper is at $3.36/pound, down just a few pennies.
