Longer Tractor-Trailers Could Be On Their Way

Some companies want to extend semi trailers from 28 feet to 33 feet - but will these longer trucks pose more safety risks?

Trucks move nearly 70 percent of all goods in the U.S. along America's highways. Now companies want to take on even more, by extending the length of each trailer five feet, from 28 feet to a maximum of 33. But the possibility of longer trucks is raising safety concerns.
