Facilities Producing Mobil SHC Cibus Food Grade Lubricants Have Earned ISO 22000 Certification

Fairfax, VA – ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company, a division of Exxon Mobil Corporation, today announced that it is the first lubricant provider to achieve ISO 22000 certification for facilities that manufacture NSF H1-registered lubricants. This accreditation is for facilities that produce ExxonMobil’s flagship Mobil SHC Cibus™ Series of high-performance NSF H1-registered food machinery lubricants. Established by the International Organization of Standardization, the ISO 22000 certification standard encompasses stringent protocols for food and beverage safety through the application of comprehensive management systems and verification, as well as rigorous manufacturing process assessments.  Ideal for a wide range of applications such as food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processing, as well as animal feed manufacturing, Mobil SHC Cibus Series lubricants are acceptable for use under Halal and Kosher dietary law and are designed to be gluten, nut and wheat-free. They are formulated to deliver excellent wear and rust protection, long-term oxidation stability and can help provide valuable sustainability-related benefits. In extensive laboratory testing, Mobil SHC Cibus Series lubricants demonstrated the ability to deliver energy efficiency savings of up to 3 percent* in gear oil applications when compared to conventional mineral-based oils. In proprietary rig testing, Mobil SHC Cibus Series synthetic lubricants also demonstrated their ability to last up to two times longer than comparable mineral oils, allowing for extended drain intervals, depending on the severity of the application.
