Graybar Q3 Sales, Profit Post Solid Gains

The quarter included the purchase of Missouri-based Cape Electrical Supply, and CEO Kathleen Mazzerella says the company will continue to explore acquisitions.

ST. LOUIS — Graybar, a distributor of electrical, communications and data networking products and provider of related supply chain management and logistics services, reported record net sales for the third quarter on Tuesday.

Following record net sales in the first two quarters of the year, Graybar achieved an all-time net sales record of $1.7 billion in the third quarter, a 6.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $30.1 million, up 6.4 percent from the same period in 2015.

For the first nine months of the year, the company reported net sales of $4.8 billion, a 5.2 percent increase from the same period last year. Net income for the first nine months of the year increased 7.5 percent to $71.0 million.
