Contitech Expands Partnership With Applied In Mexico

Applied Mexico and subsidiary RODENSA Mexico have completed a product changeover to ContiTech as a primary supplier in Mexico for industrial hoses, hydraulics, power transmission belts and certain other products.

FAIRLAWN, OH — Elastomer product supplier ContiTech, a division of international technology company Continental, announced Wednesday that Applied Mexico, S.A. de C.V. and subsidiary RODENSA Mexico, S.A. de C.V. have completed a product changeover to ContiTech as a primary supplier in Mexico for industrial hoses, hydraulics, power transmission belts, and certain other products.

Applied Mexico is one of the largest industrial distribution networks in Mexico, with 22 facilities that provide industrial products for maintenance, repair and operational needs. Applied Mexico is a subsidiary of Applied Industrial Technologies — No. 16 on Industrial Distribution's 2015 Big 50 List.

“This is a significant achievement for ContiTech,” said Jim Hill, NAFTA CEO of Fairlawn, Ohio-based ContiTech. "It will enable us to continue our growth plans and increase our market share in Mexico. We value our expanded partnership with Applied. ContiTech and Applied Mexico share a mutual long-term strategy with a focus on aggressive growth.”

Most of the ContiTech products will be manufactured locally in the company’s Chihuahua plant and will be distributed to Applied Mexico and RODENSA from ContiTech’s San Luis Potosi warehouse, Hill noted.

“The changeover to ContiTech will be a positive move for our customers,” said Sergio Nevarez, General Director of Applied Mexico. “With most of the ContiTech products sourced locally, product availability will be even better. And of course, the Continental and ContiTech names are worldwide brands of excellence. We embrace not only the names, but the focus on technology and quality that has long been an attribute of the Continental organization.”
