Bosch Sees Record 2015 North American Sales, Industrial Sales Flat

Bosch saw record North American sales in fiscal 2015 despite relatively flat growth in its Industrial Technology sector due to challenging market conditions.

Global technology and services supplier Bosch reported its 2015 full year fiscal results on Monday, led by a 24 percent growth in the U.S. Canada and Mexico over 2014.

The Farmington Hills, MI manufacturing giant posted record North American 2015 sales of $14 billion, with the yearly increase powered by the full acquisition of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH and Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH.

Organically, Bosch saw North American sales rise 6.7 percent over 2014.

North America comprised 18 percent of Bosch's 2015 sales, while North American headcount rose 8 percent to more than 31,000.

Bosch's Mobility Solutions segment posted 2015 sales of $9.5 billion, up from $8 billion in 2014. The increase was largely driven by the Automative Steering acquisition. 

Bosch's Consumer Goods segment saw North American sales double to $2.4 billion, driven by its acquisitino of home appliances joint venture BSH Hausgeräte GmbH. The company said Power Tools and BSH had their best year ever, with growth across all brands.

Bosch said North American sales in its Industrial Technology sector were relatively flat, due to the "challenging situation in the market." The sector is combrised of Bosch's Packaging Technology division and its Drive and Control Technology division.

Bosch's Energy and Building Technology sector saw healthy North American sales improvement, with 2015 sales of approximately $700 million a large increase over $500 million in 2014.

The company said for 2016, it expects worldwide sales to grow by 3 to 5 percent.
