Video: Abrasives Maker Flexovit To Rebuild NY Facility After Snow Collapse

Rebuilding of the 62,000 square foot plant and warehouse that collapsed under heavy snowfall in November last year will restore Flexovit's full production capabilities, to be completed by the fall of 2016.

Angola, NY – Industrial abrasives manufacturer Flexovit USA, Inc. has formally announced that rebuilding of their manufacturing and warehouse facilities will begin in mid-December of this year at their current Angola, New York location.

The majority of Flexovit's 100,000 square foot facility collapsed due to the record snowfall that hit the Western New York State area in late November of 2014, dumping from five to seven feet of snow in just 48 hours.  Since that event the company has resumed manufacturing of resin reinforced grinding/cutting wheels and abrasive flap discs in undamaged sections of the property.  It has also maintained sales and distribution services at its four Flexovit Distribution Centers.

Rebuilding of the 62,000 square foot plant and warehouse will restore Flexovit's full production capabilities, and should be completed by the fall of 2016.

Flexovit's recovery bears testimony to the patience and loyalty of its customers and suppliers, the perseverance and hard work of an exceptionally dedicated staff, as well as the cooperation and support of the Town of Evans, Erie County, and New York State.  As the reconstruction work progresses the company expects to rehire those still laid off due to the event, maintaining their 38 year role as a dedicated contributor to the local economy and community.
