Airgas Celebrates New Specialty Gas Facility In Utah

The state-of-the-art facility will add jobs to the region and further expand the company’s capacity to serve customers throughout the western U.S.

RADNOR, PA — Airgas, No. 8 on Industrial Distribution's 2014 Big 50 List, celebrated the opening of its new 20,000 square foot specialty gas facility in Tooele, Utah Tuesday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony and guided tours of the building. The state-of-the-art facility will provide a critical link in the supply chain for high-purity and precision-blended specialty gases used in research and commercial laboratories, environmental monitoring, and manufacturing.

Patrick Dunlavy, Tooele City Mayor, and representatives from the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, joined Airgas associates, including President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Molinini, and customers to celebrate the new facility.

Made possible in part by a post-performance Economic Development Tax Increment Finance (EDTIF) incentive awarded by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the new facility will contribute to the economic vitality of the region by bringing 25 full-time jobs to Tooele County and strengthening the manufacturing industry within the state.

“By expanding our specialty gas footprint in Utah, we are able to increase our capacity to serve our customers throughout the Western states, while also investing in and bringing jobs to the region,” said Airgas Chief Executive Officer Michael L. Molinini. “Airgas is very proud to be joining the community of Tooele, and we look forward to successful partnerships with the residents, businesses and civic associations of the region for many years to come.”
