GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Acme Tools, an authorized online retailer of tools and equipment, announced on Thursday the planned expansion of its corporate headquarters in Grand Forks, N.D.  The project includes a newly constructed addition that will feature a stunning new entrance, executive offices, board room, a large employee training room, and a new employee lunch room. New offices, conference rooms and open work areas will also be added as well as remodeling the current corporate offices.

The design of the new spaces focuses on the needs of Acme Tools employees providing the environment, technology and comfort required to increase efficiency and productivity. The expansion increases the size of the corporate headquarters building to 15,000-square-feet.

Acme Tools employees will attend manufacturer training and company training programs in the new 35-person training facility. Specifically designed to provide a unique learning environment for employees, the new training room will integrate advance training technology.

The project also repurposes previous warehouse space to create new parking spaces and new green space.

"The additional space will allow us to have the entire corporate staff in the same building and provide for improved communication at all levels," said Steve Kuhlman, vice president of corporate operations for Acme Tools. "This expansion provides needed space for all departments and in particular for the growth of our call center staff and the growing number of buyers supporting our online business."

Construction began late last year and is scheduled to be completed September 1. The new corporate headquarters building is collocated with the Acme Tools store and Acme Rents in Grand Forks.

"One of our goals with this project is to expand our corporate presence in this location and in doing so revitalize this area along North Washington Street in Grand Forks," stated Kuhlman.

Founded in Grand Forks in 1948, Acme Tools has more than 65 years of industry experience and today is a major tool distributor and retailer of tools and equipment with 10 retail stores in North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa, and an authorized online retailer offering more than 26,000 products online at AcmeTools.com.
