Weiler Donates $10,000 To New Orleans Habitat For Humanity

Weiler also gave an additional $4,500 in products to help with the build, and sent 51 workers to New Orleans to participate in February.

CRESCO, PA. — Weiler Corporation, a provider of abrasives, power brushes, and maintenance products for surface conditioning, recently donated $10,000 to the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, along with $4,500 in Weiler products to help with the build.

“We were honored to have participated in the Build-A-Thon,” said Chris Weiler, President/CEO, Weiler Corporation. “The Weiler team welcomed the opportunity to support the work of an organization that will restore the promise of New Orleans’ future, and the future of its residents.”

On Feb. 24, 51 Weiler co-workers traveled to New Orleans to participate in the build and present the donation and an assortment of Weiler products for use on the build site, including sweeps, paint brushes, gloves, brushes and squeegees. The company was in New Orleans for its National Sales Meeting, and wanted to take time to give back to the local community.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The two-week Build-A-Thon in eastern New Orleans commemorates the anniversary, and the progress the city has made.

“Working alongside partner family members Syrena Johnson and Debra Taylor, as they put their 'sweat equity' into their future home, was inspiring for the team,” said Weiler. “As a company, we’re committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and this build provided an opportunity for the entire sales team to participate.”
