Airgas Names New East Region President

Newly-appointed Jack Appolonia served Airgas as Vice President of Construction since 2008.

RADNOR, PA - Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG), one of the nation's leading suppliers of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, and related products, announced Wednesday that Jack Appolonia has been named President - Airgas East region, reporting to Shaun Powers, President - Airgas North Division.

"Jack brings to his new role proven leadership experience and a track record of success at Airgas, most recently as Vice President of Airgas' Construction segment," said Powers. "He is well-acquainted with the markets and businesses within our East region, and I'm confident that he will continue his success as he advances into his role of President of the East region."

In his previous role as Vice President of Construction since 2008, Jack had operational and financial responsibility for Airgas' construction segment on a national basis, in which speed to market and leveraging the full scope of Airgas' product and service offering are keys to success. In that role he also oversaw the integration of Oilind Safety, now known as Airgas On-Site Safety Services, into the Airgas product and service offering following its acquisition in 2008. Jack joined Airgas in 2002 as a Product Manager for industrial gases before serving as an Area Vice President for eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey in the legacy East region of Airgas from 2004 to 2008.

Prior to joining Airgas, Appolonia spent nearly 15 years with BOC Gases' U.S. packaged gases business, which was eventually acquired by Airgas, in several functions including sales, customer service, and engineering. He began his career in 1986 with Bechtel Western Power Corporation as a Mechanical Equipment Engineer. Appolonia holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University in Villanova, PA and a master of engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

The Airgas East region serves New Jersey, central and eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and northern Virginia, as well as New York City and Long Island, through nearly 50 locations and a fleet of more than 220 vehicles.
