CHICAGO, Ill. — The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) recently joined the Industrial Careers Pathway (ICP) as ICP’s sixth Alliance Partner, marking the second trade association to join the ICP initiative in the past two months. Alliance Partner associations are committed to working with ICP to fulfill its mission to meet the need for a skilled industrial distribution workforce for today and tomorrow.
Headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., NAED is dedicated to serving and protecting the electrical distribution channel. NAED joins the American Supply Association, the Industrial Supply Association Education Foundation, NAHAD–the Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution, NIBA-The Belting Association and the PTDA Foundation as a supporter of ICP and its endeavors.
“Having six trade associations dedicated to the ICP mission is a testament to just how important this work is. ICP exists to ensure our industry is seen as a viable and attractive career option among Millennial jobseekers,” notes ICP Steering Committee Chair Terry Knight. NAED Senior Vice President Michelle McNamara says, “Understanding the commitment of members and staff from Alliance Partners to the mission of ICP solidified our decision to get involved. Since ICP’s initiatives mesh so well with the goals of the NAED Education and Research Foundation, we knew NAED needed a place at the ICP table.”
ICP Alliance Partners, like NAED, provide the support for a host of outreach efforts and a wealth of resources for industrial distribution companies, job seekers and educators and parents. Members of ICP Alliance Partner associations are the public face of industrial distribution. They attend local career fairs, make classroom presentations and conduct tours of their facilities for students, all arranged from connections ICP makes through public outreach efforts.
