IBC Wins Honda 2014 Supplier Of The Year Award

Representing the best of the best, the recognition is given to suppliers that outperform all others in the areas of quality, cost, delivery, as well as safety and service.

EAST GRANBY, Conn. — As one of North America’s leading alliances of industrial, bearing & power transmission, electrical, and subassembly distributors, IBC recently announced its selection as a Honda 2014 Supplier of the Year. Representing the best of the best, the recognition is given to suppliers that outperform all others in the areas of quality, cost, delivery (QCD), as well as safety and service.

IBC works as an integrator to support Honda in multiple product categories utilizing the latest technologies. Working in partnership with McAuliffe’s Industrial, LLC and Haggard & Stocking Associates, Inc., IBC has earned a strong reputation for flexibility and responsiveness through its ongoing management of MRO products and services for Honda’s plants in Ohio and Indiana.

“The purpose of the awards is to recognize suppliers that are bringing us value and helping Honda to advance our capabilities and deliver a better vehicle to our customers,” said Monica Oliverio, Department Manager of North American Indirect Procurement at Honda North America, Inc. “We want our suppliers to truly grow with us as we continue to expand and advance our operations in North America.”

Bob Linderman, Director, Strategic Account Management for IBC, said the organization is both honored and grateful to receive the prestigious award. “We sincerely appreciate our partnership with Honda and the business we receive from this world-class organization,” Linderman said. “We look forward to continuing to innovate and grow with Honda, supporting both new programs and NAIP (North American Indirect Purchasing Initiatives).”

In 2013, Honda manufactured a record 1.78 million automobiles in North America, which led to the purchase of more than $25.5 billion in parts and materials in the region from 650 parts suppliers, also an all-time annual record. Parts purchasing for Honda plants in Indiana and Ohio last year totaled $12.2 billion from suppliers in North America, including more than 200 in Ohio and Indiana.

As a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), IBC helps its customers meet diversity spend goals and represents strong, like-minded independent distributors across a network of 550 branch locations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

“We’re very proud of the network of IBC Independent Distributors that we’ve assembled and the fact that Honda recognizes our efforts to provide top-level service and products to its North American plants,” said Ron Nuñez, President and COO of IBC.

“The fact that Honda provides this level of recognition to its suppliers speaks volumes about the manufacturer’s strategic initiatives,” said Nuñez, “and is a testament to IBC’s ability to grow and build right along with this well-respected, global organization.”
