Grainger Reports July 2014 Sales Results

Grainger reported sales results Wednesday for the month of July 2014.

CHICAGO — Grainger (NYSE: GWW) reported sales results Wednesday for the month of July 2014. Sales increased six percent versus July 2013. Results for the month included two percentage points from acquisitions, net of dispositions, and a one percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic sales increased five percent driven by five percentage points from volume and 1 percentage point from the favorable timing of the July 4 holiday in the United States, partially offset by a one percentage point decline from lower sales of seasonal products. The month of July 2014 had 22 selling days, the same as in July 2013. The 2014 third quarter will have 64 selling days, the same as in the 2013 third quarter.
