Chicago, IL - Grainger reported sales results for the month of May 2014. Daily sales increased 6% versus May 2013. Results for the month included 2 percentage points from acquisitions, net of dispositions, and a 1 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic daily sales increased 5% driven by 6 percentage points from volume partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline from lower sales of seasonal products. The month of May 2014 had 21 selling days versus 22 selling days in May 2013.  The 2014 second quarter will have 64 selling days, the same number as the 2013 second quarter.
