Hertz may be spinning off its construction equipment rental business, according to the Financial Times.
The sale could fetch up to $4.5 billion. The segment has previously accounted for some $1.1 billion of Hertz revenues.
This would mean big news for distributors, as Hertz competes with United Rental and other rental companies. The official accounement could be made later this week.
According to the times article, shareholders have been pushing Hertz to sell of this business.
