Winona, MN - Fastenal Company released the numbers for their October sales month, noting that net sales rose 7.7% year over year.
Net sales in October of 2013 were $310,892 (Dollar amounts in thousands), up from $288,540 in the same month of 2012. The daily sales were $13,517, also up 7.7% from $12,545 in 2012.
Commentary on sales growth and end markets:
End market (daily sales change) - During the month, manufacturing customers grew 7.6% and non-residential construction customers grew 5.4%.
Sales growth - The change in currencies in foreign countries (primarily Canada) relative to the United States dollar reduced our daily sales growth rate by 0.3% during the month.
Fastenal has opened 46 stores in 2013. The company now has 2,688 in operation.
