As part of a strategic plan for continued growth and expansion, Nichols acquired Industrial Cleaning Supply (ICS). The acquisition agreement was closed on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 and is one of several completed acquisitions in the company's 76 year history.

ICS has been a family owned and operated janitorial/sanitation distributor for over 40 years. Since purchased by Jack and Sharon Miller in 1976, the company grew to a $5 million dollar a year sales organization with 19 employees serving the Greater Detroit area. ICS’s expertise and focus on the government and education markets will greatly contribute to expanding Nichols product offerings in the Greater Detroit market. Miller quoted, “We cherish all of the memories over the past 40 years and look forward to what we can become with Nichols.”

Owned by Michael K. Olthoff, Nichols has been distributing supplies and solutions to make clean and healthy facilities and ensure the safe shipment of products for the healthcare, education, industrial, building service contractor and lodging industries since 1936. Based in Muskegon, MI with branch locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Traverse City and Wixom, Nichols leads the industry with a You first service model of innovation, knowledge and excellence.

“We are excited to have Industrial Cleaning Supply become a part of Nichols. They have always been a highly regarded company and this acquisition will substantially enhance our presence in Southeastern Michigan.” said owner Mike Olthoff, about the recent acquisition. We are very pleased that Jack Miller and Shannon Budzynski will be staying with ICS and will play an important part in its future success.
