- Acquisition brings advanced profiling services in-house and provides Edgen Murray’s U.K. and European customers with extended package offerings and fast response times

Edgen Group Inc., through its subsidiary, Edgen Murray Europe Limited, a leading global supplier of specialty steel products and logistics solutions for the energy and infrastructure markets, has acquired the profiling business of Eterniti Steels Limited in order to enhance its complete package offerings to customers in the U.K. and throughout Europe.
The newly formed Edgen Murray General Steels & Profiling Division is located in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The Division operates in a recently expanded warehouse with total of five DNC/CAD controlled, multi head oxy fuel and high def plasma machines working on a maximum cutting bed size of 20m x 4m on oxy fuel and 10m x 3m on high def plasma in operation over a three shift working schedule. In addition to profiling, shearing and mechanical cutting services are also provided from this location. Profiling services will be extended for plate up to 300mm thick from early 2013.

Mark Allard, Managing Director of Eterniti’s profiling business, will join the Edgen Murray team as Director, Edgen Murray General Steels & Profiling Division, along with his sales and operations staff. “Our recent expansions and the ability to join the Edgen Murray family will offer our customers access to the full spectrum of offshore grade steels, additional inventory holdings and allow us to provide a complete range of services for plate, tubular and profiles of all grades and sizes,” said Allard.
The non-profiling business of Eterniti Steels Limited, based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, U.K., was not included in the acquisition.
