Anixter will invest more than $10 million in this new property and will continue to contribute to the economic well being of Illinois through the creation and retention of over 125 jobs in the Chicagoland area.

According to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, "The state's targeted investment package, estimated at $2 million, includes Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credits, which are based on jobs and distributed over a period of 10 years and a training grant through the Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP). The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) will administer the package, which will help create 66 new jobs and retain 60 jobs."

Construction of the new facility commenced at a ground breaking ceremony on Friday, August 17, and Anixter expects to have occupancy beginning in April of 2013.

In accordance with Anixter's corporate sustainability philosophy, Anixter will work toward LEED certification at the completion of its construction, joining other LEED-certified buildings in the U.S. Anixter continuously seeks to improve business processes to control and reduce the impact associated with its targeted environmental aspects of energy, waste, materials and natural resources.
