STAFDA hosts record-breaking trade show
The Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Assn. hosted its largest trade show ever last week as part of its 31st Annual Convention & Trade Show. The event took place Nov. 4-6 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville and drew more than 5,300 attendees.

Construction market highlights industry speeches
In his state-of-the-industry report on Monday, Nov. 5, STAFDA President Greg Drouillard focused on the construction outlook, competition from big box stores such as Home Depot and the strength of the overall economy. Drouillard, president of Target Building Materials in Windsor, Ontario, told attendees that the United States and Canada face similar problems in the construction industry.

“Pursuit of Happyness” subject wows STAFDA members
STAFDA has heard some high-profile speakers at its annual conventions over the years. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell and NBC’s "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert are among the top names STAFDA officials have managed to book in the last 10 years. But this year, a lesser-known figure from the business world drew a standing ovation from the more than 5,000 people who attended the event.

Tech Fair draws strong crowd
This year’s Technology & Consultant’s Fair drew a large crowd of attendees who had the opportunity to meet with representatives of nearly 20 software companies, e-commerce providers and logistics experts.
