F.W. Webb Raises Final Beam On Large New Distribution Center

F.W. Webb held a "Topping Off" ceremony on Jan. 13 at the construction site of its new Londonderry, NH distribution center, celebrating the raising the final beam of the exterior structure. The completed facility will cover nearly 1 million square feet.

Bedford, MA-based F.W. Webb — No. 21 on Industrial Distribution's Big 50 List — held a "Topping Off" ceremony on Jan. 13 at the construction site of its new Londonderry, NH distribution center, celebrating the raising the final beam of the exterior structure.

Ground broke for construction on the facility in August, and once completed, it will cover nearly 1 million square feet. It will serve as the central distribution center for the company that had $960 million in 2015 sales.

F.W. Webb owner John Pope and president Jeff Pope, along with the Green Leaf construction team, all signed the beam, painted white for the occasion, prior to it being raised into position.

Much of the supplies being used in the facility's construction are being provided by F.W. Webb itself, including HVAC, pipe, valves and fittings, ductwork, fire-protection, plumbing and hardware.
