Bearings Specialist Association is soon holding its HR Forum on Jan. 26-27 at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida, with a focus on recruitment and retention.

The HR Forum was developed for BSA member and participating manufacturer personnel responsible for the HR functions within their company. With it's recruitment and retention theme, program participants include professional placement personnel from four year universities, the military and technical schools, and experienced HR personnel from BSA's own and other industries.

The forum schedule runs 1:00-6:30 p.m. (EST) on Monday, Jan. 26, concluding with a joint reception and dinner planned with the BSA Winter meeting attendees that will increase the opportunity to network with industry peers in a casual, more intimate setting. That first day's focus is on retention, starting with a 2:00 welcome presentation by Linda Miller, BSA past president and current VP of Human Resources/Information Systems, Bearings and Drives. She's followed by four presenters on retention:

  • Todd Hamlin, President Bearings and PT & Senior VP of Service Centers for DXP Enterprises
  • Matt Bertman, Director of Leadership and Organizational Development at Amerisure
  • Kristen McLaughlin, Regional Sales Director - Southeast, for SilkRoad Technology
  • Billy Hamilton, VP of Human Resources at Motion Industries

The schedule for Tuesday, Jan. 27 runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The day's focus is on recruitment, with presentations by placement experts for technical school, four-year college, and military. The day includes a personnel recruitment question and answer session, and culminates with a best practices panel discussion.
