Editor's Note
Purchasing needs your help. Once again, we are asking readers to nominate purchasing professionals who demonstrate excellence at sourcing MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) goods and services. From the nominations, the editors will select leaders of MRO buying based on their success at managing relationships with suppliers as well as their use of innovative programs to manage costs or improve plant productivity. We will recognize these purchasing pros for their accomplishments with a spot on the magazine’s 2008 All-Star MRO Buy team. Please send nominations—names of MRO purchasers deserving this recognition to savery@reedbusiness.com. Purchasing will announce the team in one of our summer issues. Past All-Star MRO Buy teams consisted of purchasing professionals from such companies as Dow Chemical, Harman/Becker Automotive Systems, United Technologies, Intel, Motorola, United Airlines and Rockwell Collins.
