M&A activity heated up in 2005

During the long Christmas holiday, someone asked me who had bought Prophet 21 in 2005. The reader was confused as to which large software provider had made the purchase. That got me to reviewing some of our past issues. (OK I admit it. I don’t have much of a life outside distribution). And not surprisingly, mergers and acquisitions had been the dominating story in 2005, and have even picked up steam this year already. It was an interesting year for the distribution channel. So I prepared this recap of some of the distribution events that shaped the year. Hope you like this retrospective look.
