The flood aftermath
The terrible flooding in the Midwest has taken a toll on families and businesses. Distributors responded to the flooding by supplying products such as pumps, generators and motors, but they also experienced some devastating losses to employees’ homes as well as their own businesses.
For a detailed account of the impact the flooding has had on the distribution community, click here to read our special report. In particular, please note that Crescent Electric Supply in East Dubuque, Ill., is helping the affected communities get back on their feet with a matching relief fund supporting The United Way and The American Red Cross.
Originally focused on assisting communities affected by the tornadoes that hit the Midwest earlier this year, the matching fund has been increased from $25,000 to $85,000 to support tornado and flood victims in Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana.
Also, ID will be updating this story regularly, so please check back. And if you have your own story about how the flood has affected you, your employees or your business, please e-mail me at jkeough@reedbusiness.com.
