More Details On Grainger's New San Antonio Office

Grainger CEO Jim Ryan and Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed the company's new office location Tuesday, sharing details on when it plans to be fully operational and how many employees it plans to hire there.

A June 2 report by the San Antonio Business Journal said that Grainger has leased 40,000 square feet of office space in northwest San Antonio, but details were limited. The report only went on to say that Grainger now occupies the third floor and part of the second floors of the Class A Fountainhead II office building there and that finish-out work would cost an estimated $2.85 million.

More details were made available Tuesday, however, as San Antonio's KSAT12 News shared statements made by Grainger CEO Jim Ryan and Texas Governor Greg Abbott regarding the matter.

According to KSAT12, Ryan on Tuesday confirmed the new location and that the company plans to hire about 200 employees at the facility.

As of Wednesday morning, Grainger's job search website shows postings for San Antonio positions of:

  • inside sales manager;
  • senior manager of sales leader development;
  • executive sales administrative assistant and
  • inside sales associate

Abbott said the project represents a $3.9 million investment in the state and that a grant offer of $975,000 has been extended by a Texas Enterprise Fund to Grainger.

"Team members in this new San Antonio location will offer our customers products and solutions to help keep their facilities running and people safe," KSAT12 quoted Ryan. "We look forward to having this facility fully operational this summer."

The San Antonio Business Journal's June 2 report stated Grainger's lease on the facility was signed during the fourth quarter of 2015. The new location is part of the northwest San Antonio's Fountainhead Business Park, a 12-acre campus at 4411 and 4545 Horizon Hill Blvd.
