IBM offers wireless access for all its products
Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 7/1/2001
New York—IBM introduced an all-wireless line of products and services that makes it easier for companies to extend their business to mobile devices.
IBM is enabling wireless on its ThinkPad and WorkPad notebook computers, pervasive devices and servers. The company will also provide software, support and services to give customers mobile access to critical applications in the office or on the road. For example, a new dual antenna design placed in the screen provides ThinkPads with integrated support for 802.11 wireless LANs, which results in stronger signal strength.
"Wireless is having profound implications for e-business," says Michel Mayer, general manager of IBM's pervasive computing division.
