Warehouse management for small firms

Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 7/1/2001

Raleigh, N.C.—Small and mid-sized distributors can now do electronic warehouse management at the click of a radio frequency gun.

Software provider Butler & Curless Associates, Inc., calls its Warehouse Management System, part of its ec21-MWDS software package, a cost-effective way to streamline warehousing operations and processes. The software, combined with RF technology using bar code scanners and wedge readers, helps firms streamline and automate picking, packing, tracking, manifesting, and billing orders.

"Our company recognized the importance of reducing warehouse operating costs with a better disciplined system like the WMS," says co-founder John Butler.
