BSA honors Wendy MacDonald

Palm springs, Calif.—Wendy MacDonald, chairman, BC Bearing Engineers Ltd., was presented with the Bearing Specialists Assn.'s first Lifetime Achievement Award at the association's annual convention, held at the Renaissance Esmerelda April 29-May 2. The award recognizes a BSA member for his or her contribution to the association and industry.
"Wendy's unique business qualifications and experience have always been in demand by her industry peers, and she has willingly accepted numerous positions serving many business and industry associations," said Terry Tillsley, Transmission Supplies (SA) Ltd., Lethbridge, Canada, and BSA president, in making the presentation.
In 1984 MacDonald was the first woman elected president of BSA.
As chairman of BC Bearing Engineers, she has taken the company from its early years as a Vancouver upstart to a $140 million company with branch offices and subsidiaries in Chile, Mexico, Singapore and the United States. She is joined in the business by her son, Robby MacPherson, president and CEO; daughter Penny Omnés, vice president of marketing and human resources; son Scott MacPherson, president of US Bearings and Drives; and another son, Bill Dix, vice president/international, BCB Group.
BSA's new officers were also announced during the convention: Scott MacPherson, BC Bearing Engineers, president; Peter Fitzpatrick, Bearings Specialty Co., first vice president; Jeff Ramras, Applied Industrial Technologies, second vice president; and Craig Gipson, Gipson Bearing & Supply, West Homestead, Pa., treasurer.
