ASP model promotes higher profit margins

Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 5/1/2001

Raleigh, N.C.—Butler & Curless Associates, Inc. announced an application service provider-enterprise resource planning system, which the software firm calls the first of its kind to cut customer costs in the industry.

"This is our first real opportunity to implement our entire wholesale distribution system in an ASP environment," says Barbara Touchstone-Griffin, product manager for ec21-MWDS, or Managed Wholesale Distribution Service.

Vietri Inc., a North Carolina wholesale distributor of dinnerware, will use the office package, which includes a fully integrated real-time warehouse management system that covers all of its operational and financial needs. The ASP offering includes data center hosting.
