Associations add sales training program
Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 5/1/2001
Atlanta—The Industrial Distribution Assn. and the American Supply & Machinery Manufacturers' Assn. announced a new sales training partnership with DaCo Corp. of Grand Rapids, Mich., a sales training and consulting organization.
The program will give member companies access to seminars, certification programs, audio self-study and videotape training materials created by DaCo president Dave Kahle.
"We're extremely pleased to announce this partnership," said Gary Buffington, I.D.A. executive vice president. "Dave Kahle is the sales guru for the distribution channel, and the wide variety of resources available through DaCo mean that all our member companies can take advantage of this program to meet one of their most pressing needs — sales training for all levels of salespeople, from brand new to the most experienced."
The associations say the program is equally valuable to manufacturers.
Kahle says there are three primary benefits to the program: it offers an organized sales training program for companies that don't have one; the variety of resources are designed to fit various budgets and levels of sophistication; and the materials are specific to industrial distribution.
Member companies will receive detailed information on the program at the ASMMA/I.D.A. Spring Convention this month and by mail over the summer.
