Fremont, Calif—WorldChain, Inc., a provider of supply chain network solutions that connect business partners, appointed former Dell Computer executive David Allen as CEO.

Formerly vice president of worldwide operations at Dell, Allen will lead WorldChain's development and growth. He says the firm's products solve "the problem of achieving 'perfect execution' throughout multi-company supply chain networks."

"Companies have invested millions of dollars implementing procurement, production planning and order fulfillment software solutions," says Allen, "but as they have increasingly outsourced key business processes, the challenge of synchronizing operations between supply chain partners has increased dramatically." Worldchain also received a $32 million second round of funding.
