Electrical distributors merge: Mayer Electric Supply buys Electric Supply of Macon

Two electrical distributors joined forces as Mayer Electric Supply agreed to acquire Electric Supply of Macon for an undisclosed amount.The acquisition of Macon, Ga.-based ELM increases Birmingham, Ala.-based Mayer’s footprint in the Peach State to 12 locations. Mayer Electric has a total of 61 locations in eight states.
“We are very pleased to be joining forces with Electric Supply. We have wanted to be a part of the central Georgia area for some time and the opportunity to have [ELM owner and president] Bob [White] and his team become a part of Mayer is absolutely the best way we could make this happen,” Mayer Electric regional Vice President Mike Kidney said. “With the strong inventory position Mayer has throughout the Southeast and the additional services we’ll provide for customers, we are very confident that the Macon-area customers will be pleased.”
White will continue to lead ELM, serving as branch manager of the Macon store.
