Parker Hannifin buys German composites manufacturer

Parker Hannifin Corp. acquired German composites manufacturer Lingk & Sturzebecher for an undisclosed amount.Stuhr, Germany-based L&S, which manufactures light-weight carbon fiber high-pressure cylinders and actuators for the aerospace, mobile and industrial markets, will be integrated into Parker’s industrial international division. L&S posted sales of roughly $11.2 million last year.
The Cleveland-based motion control products manufacturer said the deal will enable it to develop more energy-efficient hydraulic systems.
“We are excited to welcome L&S to Parker,” said Jeff Cullman, group president of Parker’s hydraulics segment. “Its composite technology competence creates the opportunity for us to provide integrated solutions such as energy recovery systems for mobile equipment produced by leading international manufacturers.”
