Norandex Building Materials Distribution opened two new branches in Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas, hard on the heels of acquiring two new stores in the Baton Rouge, La., region.“We are in the midst of one of the biggest strategic growth initiatives this company has ever undertaken,” president and CEO Brian Chambers said. “Late last year, we devised a growth plan that includes a focus on extending our customer base by helping them be more successful in the market, enhancing our product offering, and expanding our market coverage. This year, we have been very active on all three fronts, and the addition of branches in Portland and Austin gives us a presence in two very important markets.”
Hudson, Ohio-based Norandex is owned by French building materials manufacturer/distributor Saint-Gobain.
In Portland, Norandex acquired part of the Crown Building Materials operation and moved temporarily to that location while it contemplates other locations nearby for a larger facility.
The company’s Austin branch is set to open in September.
