Industrial Distribution staff -- Industrial Distribution, 8/7/2008 9:16:00 AM

RBC Bearings had sales of $92.4 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2009.

It was an increase of 15.7 percent from $79.8 million recorded in the first quarter of fiscal 2008 by the Oxford, Conn.-based bearings manufacturer.

Net income for Q1 was $10.7 million, an 8.7 percent increase from the $9.8 million recorded in the same period last year.

“We are pleased with the results of our first quarter and feel we are on track to deliver record performance this year,” said Michael Hartnett, chairman and CEO of RBC.

In June, RBC acquired Precision Industrial Components, a mechanical components manufacturer.
