SKF acquires PEER Bearing Co.

SKF acquired PEER Bearing Co. and its manufacturing operations in China and Thailand.

Headquartered in Waukegan, Ill., PEER is an American-based maker of bearings, specializing in deep groove ball bearings and tapered roller bearings. In 2007, its sales were approximately $100 million. PEER employs 1,400.

The plants acquired by SKF are in Xinchang and Changshan, China and Rayong, Thailand.

SKF is a supplier of bearings, seals, mechatronics and lubrication systems. It has locations in more than 130 countries.
