Jackson Safety subsidiary to buy stake in Chinese manufacturer

Industrial Distribution staff -- Industrial Distribution, 4/28/2008 7:39:00 AM

A Jackson Safety subsidiary acquired a 70 percent stake in Changzhou Shine Science and Technology Co. Ltd. for an undisclosed amount, the St. Louis Business Journal reported.

Jackson Products Inc., the Fenton, Mo.-based company’s personal and traffic safety products subsidiary, said the deal for Shine Science, which makes welding safety products, is set to close during the third quarter.

“This acquisition supports our global strategy of being the preferred supplier of safety products," president and CEO Tom Burns said. “Shine's innovative products broaden our welding product offering and strengthen our position as the number one manufacturer of auto-darkening filters.”
